Overview of Energy &amp;amp; Sustainability lab\u2019s activity<br \/><br \/>Decarbonizing energy systems and reducing greenhouse gas emissions are critical priorities<br \/>due to the increasing global energy demand and pollution from fossil fuels. Hydrogen (H\u2082)<br \/>fuel is a promising alternative green energy source. However, the predominant industrial<br \/>methods for large-scale H\u2082 production\u2014steam reforming and coal gasification\u2014generate<br \/>CO\u2082, a significant greenhouse gas. Therefore, H\u2082 production through hybrid water<br \/>electrolysis combined with CO\u2082 mitigation represents a sustainable strategy.<br \/>Our research group (Energy &amp;amp; Sustainability lab) at IIT Gandhinagar is dedicated to<br \/>developing suitable catalysts for these purposes. We primarily employ electrochemistry and<br \/>photoelectrochemistry to carry out transformations and to understand the underlying<br \/>mechanisms.
